Device Requirements for Google Assistant

  Before we proceed, check your phone and make sure it can run this feature. If not, it may not work for you or you can make use of the lite version of the app.

For Android devices:

• Versions 5.0 and up, with at least 1 GB of RAM available.

How do I make Google Assistant to recognize my voice?

   You can make Google Assistant recognize your voice via voice match and get hands-free help, but you will need to train your voice with the assistant by saying “Hey Google” or “Ok Google.” With this, the Google Assistant would be able to recognize your voice when used.

Follow the procedure below:

• Open settings on your Android device.
• Look for the Google app.
• Navigate through the page and tap Settings for Google apps.
• Select “Search, Assistant & voice”
• Select voice
• Then, select a voice match.
• Follow the instructions by saying “Ok Google” or “Hey Google.”

  If after toggling the voice match, the assistant still does not recognize your voice, on the same page, select voice model to retrain the Google assistant to recognize your voice.

  The purpose of this voice match is to recognize your voice and tell you apart from others so it can give you info meant just for you.

How to use Google Assistant on iPhone

   The procedure for using Google Assistant on the iPhone is slightly different from that on the Android phone. For instance, on an Android phone, you can make Google Assistant recognize your voice via voice match and use it even without opening the app, but on an iPhone, it is different. Any time you want to use it, you’ll need to go to the app.
