Role Overview

Online Foodstuff Store Limited is recruiting an Account Receivables and Payables Officer. This role will manage customer receivables, vendor payables and ensure timely and accurate processing of payments and collections. It is essential for maintaining healthy cash flow, reducing bad debt and supporting the company’s financial stability.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable and Debt Recovery
  • Generate and issue accurate invoices to customers on time
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices
  • Implement effective debt recovery strategies to reduce outstanding receivables
  • Negotiate payment plans when necessary and escalate delinquent accounts
Accounts Payable
  • Review and process vendor invoices with proper approvals and documentation
  • Prepare and schedule timely payments to suppliers while optimising cash flow
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
Reconciliation and Reporting
  • Perform regular reconciliations of receivables and payables with the general ledger
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions for auditing and compliance purposes
  • Prepare periodic reports on receivables, payables and debt recovery performance for management
Internal Controls and Compliance
  • Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
Requirements
  • OND / HND / B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in accounts receivable/payable roles (experience in FMCG or retail preferred)
  • Proven experience in debt recovery and collections
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing vendors and customers
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software and ERP systems
  • Must reside in Abuja, preferably in Kubwa or nearby areas
