Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and organized Accountant to design, implement, and manage an efficient accounting system that ensures financial integrity across all business operations. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience implementing accounting controls in FMCG or e-commerce environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all transactions (cash, POS, and online).
• Prepare and present weekly financial and cashflow reports to management.
• Generate monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow.
• Reconcile sales and inventory records in collaboration with warehouse and sales teams.
• Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all financial functions.
• Implement and manage accounting software such as QuickBooks or Zoho Books.
• Reconcile daily and monthly collections from sales and e-commerce platforms.
• Maintain debtors and creditors ledgers with weekly aging reports.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

• BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ICAN/ACCA certification is an advantage).
• 3–5 years of experience in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar software.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and time management.

Salary and Benefits

• Base Salary: ₦180,000 – ₦220,000 per month
• Transport and Communication Allowance: ₦20,000
• KPI Bonus: ₦18,000 – ₦22,000 (based on performance)
• Process Improvement Incentive: ₦50,000 (one-time)
• Integrity Bonus: ₦30,000 quarterly
• Expected Take-Home: ₦200,000 – ₦280,000 monthly (performance-based)

Performance Expectations

• Month 1: Review financial records and establish process control systems.
• Month 2: Deploy accounting software and enforce compliance standards.
• Month 3: Deliver complete financial reports and ensure audit readiness.

Work Environment

The role operates in a dynamic FMCG and e-commerce setting that values accountability, innovation, and teamwork. The Accountant will collaborate closely with Operations and Sales teams to drive financial efficiency and transparency.
