Job Description
As an Accountant at Premier Hub Innovation Center, you will be responsible for overseeing the finance department’s activities and ensuring smooth operations in areas such as financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the finance department and coordinating corporate financial planning, budgeting, control, and reporting.
- Handling Hub invoices, proforma, expenses, cash flows, banking relationships, and facilities. You will also negotiate new banking facilities as needed.
- Ensuring invoices are issued promptly and payments are made within 30 days.
- Filing PAYE taxes, VAT, and WHT for the business units.
- Setting up and maintaining systems and accounting records in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Advising management on the financial implications of business activities to maximize profitability and suggest corrective actions where necessary.
- Implementing and reviewing internal controls to ensure effectiveness and suitability.
- Ensuring the availability of adequate funds for project activities by submitting timely financial reports.
- Leading the planning and budgeting process for the Hub and ensuring funds are accountable.
- Undertaking monthly reconciliations and preparing financial reports for the management team, ensuring timely submission.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, audit, tax, and contractual responsibilities.
- Managing requests for extra-budgetary expenses.
- Preparing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Supporting the annual audit process with auditors and filing annual returns with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
- Managing company accounts, maintaining financial files, and providing advice on revenue generation and cost reduction.
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following qualifications:
- A BSc or MSc degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
- A minimum of four (4) years of proven experience as a Chartered Accountant, preferably within the real estate, co-working space, or hospitality industry.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is mandatory.
Salary
- N250,000 – N300,000 per month.
