As the AFR Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of AFR (Alternative Fuel and Raw Materials) operations within the plant. You will manage the preparation and maintenance of pre-processing platforms and the activities of the staff and subcontractors involved in resource recovery. This role also involves ensuring the adherence to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards across all operational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) procedures related to alternative fuel operations.
  • Ensure the implementation of ACERT protocols to prevent fire hazards.
  • Maintain cleanliness across production sites.
  • Regularly visit alternative fuel material sourcing areas across the region to monitor market dynamics and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the platform manager to manage pre-processing activities, including overseeing the subcontractor workforce.
  • Set and communicate production priorities.
  • Ensure that AFR supplied materials meet quality specifications.
  • Monitor and control AFR material stock levels to guarantee supply continuity.
  • Track and report non-conformities in waste production processes.
  • Ensure timely reception of materials to minimize transporter waiting time.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings with operations and logistics to ensure the availability of supplies and trucks.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Commercial Manager and Lafarge production team regarding potential risks.
  • Validate work permits and enforce the application of the LOTOTO (Lockout/Tagout/Tryout) system at the platform.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation for invoicing is completed on time.
  • Record and allocate incoming waste tonnage to the appropriate treatment processes.
  • Monitor worker hours and allocate them to the corresponding processes.
Qualifications & Skills
  • B.Sc or HND in Engineering, Science, or Business Management.
  • Strong background in operations and maintenance.
  • Experience in operations planning and logistics management.
  • Proficiency in safety management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and a procedural mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of AFR processes, SAP Cockpit tools, and logistics execution.
