Initially founded as a civil engineering consulting firm, the company served both private and public sector clients for a decade. In 1990, Amercron expanded into the Oil and Gas industry, where it has continued to grow and deliver high-quality services.

We are currently hiring for the following position:

Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (CISCO ISE)

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Implementation:

  • Design, configure, and deploy secure network solutions using Cisco ISE and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-level network infrastructures.
  • Oversee the installation and integration of network systems, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Cisco ISE Management:

  • Deploy and manage Cisco ISE to control network access and ensure security.
  • Develop and maintain ISE policies for wired, wireless, and VPN environments.
  • Integrate Cisco ISE with existing network infrastructure and troubleshoot authentication and authorization issues.

Firewall Configuration & Management:

  • Configure and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls to optimize security and performance.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and change management logs.
  • Provide regular reports on network performance, security, and project updates.

Continuous Improvement & Research:

  • Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and security trends.
  • Recommend and implement network upgrades to enhance security and efficiency.
  • Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery initiatives.

Network Monitoring & Security:

  • Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, Riverbed, and PRTG.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
  • Respond to security incidents to minimize operational impact.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce network security policies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans, addressing identified risks.
  • Work with IT teams to maintain a secure and compliant network infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in backend IT infrastructure provision and support, with at least 5 years in IT service delivery for data communications networks in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and advanced security features.
  • Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching technologies, including Nexus switches, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience with wireless networking solutions like Cisco and Aruba Wireless.
  • Knowledge of security technologies including VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with IT operations safety and compliance in the Oil and Gas sector.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Certifications such as CEH Master, Palo Alto Professional, CCNP Security/Enterprise, or equivalents.
  • Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., Azure) and SD-WAN.
  • Familiarity with other security platforms like Fortinet and CheckPoint.
