Role Overview

CENSCOPE is seeking a compassionate and experienced Caseworker to provide direct support to individuals affected by conflict and other crises in Mobbar, Borno State. The Caseworker will be responsible for identifying victims’ needs, coordinating referrals, providing psychosocial support, and ensuring that all assistance is delivered effectively and ethically.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs of victims of explosive ordnance and provide referrals for appropriate support services.
  • Offer emotional support and basic psychosocial counseling to individuals in need.
  • Refer clients to service providers, including medical, shelter, livelihood, and social support systems, and follow up to ensure continuity of care.
  • Conduct intake interviews and maintain accurate, confidential case documentation.
  • Prepare progress and incident reports as required.
  • Engage with community structures to strengthen local support networks.
  • Represent CENSCOPE at coordination meetings within the Local Government Area.
  • Maintain records of daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Nursing, Medical Sciences, or related social or humanitarian fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian or community-based work.
  • Fluency in English, Hausa, and Kanuri is required.
  • Experience in community awareness, mobilization, and facilitation activities.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and field realities.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing situations.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong work ethic, humility, and willingness to work in diverse cultural environments.
