Role Overview

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be certified to teach both IGCSE and A-Level programmes and will inspire students through engaging and interactive learning sessions. This role is on a contract basis, requiring 2 hours per day, 3 times a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons in Chemistry following Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level standards.
• Teach for 2 hours per day, 3 days per week (6 hours weekly).
• Prepare students for both internal and Cambridge external examinations.
• Develop comprehensive lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
• Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing regular feedback and progress reports.
• Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity and achievement.
• Collaborate with other subject teachers and participate in academic planning sessions.
• Maintain accurate academic records and communicate effectively with parents or guardians.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject discipline.
• A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Valid teaching certification, preferably in IGCSE or A-Level (e.g. Cambridge certification, PGCE, TRCN).
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in IGCSE and/or A-Level Chemistry with proven results.
• Sound knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and assessment standards.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with modern teaching tools and educational technologies.

Additional Information

• This position is contract-based and part-time.
• Shortlisted applicants may be invited to deliver a demonstration lesson.
• Immediate availability or readiness to start in the upcoming academic term is preferred.

Salary

₦120,000 – ₦150,000 per month.
