Job Overview

The Credit Officer will be responsible for reviewing loan applications, assessing the creditworthiness of clients, and managing repayment processes. This role requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and a passion for helping clients make responsible financial decisions. The ideal candidate will support the company’s goal of maintaining a healthy loan portfolio while minimizing financial risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze loan applications and applicants’ financial records.
• Conduct credit and risk assessments in line with company policies.
• Recommend loan approvals or rejections based on assessment outcomes.
• Monitor repayment schedules and follow up with clients to reduce default rates.
• Maintain accurate documentation for credit applications, approvals, disbursements, and repayments.
• Carry out field visits to verify client information and collateral.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Experience in credit analysis, loan processing, or a similar banking role.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with loan management software is an added advantage.

Salary

N70,000 per month
