Role Overview

The Dialysis Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining dialysis equipment used in the treatment of patients with kidney disease. This role involves working closely with doctors and nurses to ensure safe and effective dialysis treatment for patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up dialysis machines and necessary equipment before each treatment.
• Conduct pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments, including checking and recording vital signs.
• Start, monitor, and complete dialysis sessions under the supervision of medical staff.
• Observe patients during treatment and promptly report any unusual reactions or complications.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis machines according to clinic protocols.
• Mix dialysis solutions and ensure proper monitoring throughout treatment.
• Keep accurate records of patient treatments and equipment use.
• Educate patients on dialysis procedures and how to care for their vascular access.
• Follow strict infection control and safety standards.
• Manage and report stock levels of dialysis supplies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Certificate in Dialysis Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience working in a renal care or hospital environment.
• Valid certification as a Dialysis Technician (if applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong attention to detail and patient care skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
