About the Role
BURN is seeking an Electrical Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the smooth operation of electrical components, minimizes downtime, and improves production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including wiring issues, control systems, lighting systems, and power supply problems using appropriate testing devices.
  • Assist in the installation of new electrical equipment and systems, ensuring proper wiring and connections according to electrical codes and standards.
  • Program and calibrate electrical control systems to optimize machine performance.
  • Conduct safety inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with electrical codes and company safety policies.
  • Identify electrical hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents.
  • Keep accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, including repairs made, parts used, and work hours.
  • Prepare detailed reports on electrical system performance, upgrades, and necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff, production teams, and engineering to ensure the availability and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Interpret and prepare technical diagrams.
  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Work with MRO stores to procure and maintain electrical spares.
  • Work as part of a team or independently to complete projects.
  • Make decisions based on technical documents.
  • Perform electrical quality testing and inspections.
  • Be available to work on a shift basis.

Requirements

  • B.Eng or HND in Electrical Engineering (Essential).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the manufacturing sector (Essential).
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams (Essential).
  • Understanding of PLC drives (Desirable).
