Job Title: Process Technician
Location: Lagos
Your Role in Our Team
As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of unit equipment. You will play a key role in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting process systems to prevent hazards and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop in-depth knowledge of unit operations, safe operating procedures, and control mechanisms
Identify and mitigate process hazards to maintain a safe working environment
Follow strict work safety standards, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and Management of Change procedures
Conduct equipment monitoring, inspections, and sampling rounds to ensure optimal performance
Assist in preparing equipment for maintenance and returning it to service with minimal process disruptions
Operate field and console systems to manage unit operations efficiently
Respond effectively to emergency situations by executing safety protocols
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
Higher National Diploma (HND) in Process or Instrumentation, City & Guilds Level 4 in Process/Instrumentation, or equivalent oil & gas industry apprenticeship certification
Minimum of 3 years experience as an operator technician in the oil and gas sector
Preferred Skills & Experience:
🔹 Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
🔹 Knowledge of oil and gas processing equipment (pumps, compressors, separators, etc.)
🔹 Hands-on experience with maintenance, minor repairs, and instrumentation readings
🔹 Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Fire & Gas (F&G) systems, and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) procedures
🔹 Ability to interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
🔹 Experience with hydrocarbon processing, crude oil stabilization, storage, and offloading
