Position Available: Field Operator III
Location: Akwa Ibom
Role Overview
This role involves operating equipment and wells in line with approved safety and operating procedures. The goal is to meet daily operational plans, minimize equipment failures, and ensure effective use of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement daily work objectives covering housekeeping, safety, health, environment, and security.
- Participate actively in daily toolbox meetings and routine safety meetings.
- Monitor wells and equipment continuously, taking corrective and optimization actions to maintain reliable, efficient, and safe operations.
- Act as Equipment Care Technician and perform simple maintenance activities.
- Report any alarms, emergencies, or shutdown system outages promptly.
- Provide detailed and accurate shift-change information to ensure operational continuity.
- Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance tasks in line with corrective, predictive, and preventive plans.
- Record all operational events, abnormal situations, or deviations in the logbook.
- Take product samples for laboratory analysis and conduct basic field laboratory tests.
- Participate in emergency response activities.
- Report incidents internally and escalate as required by incident reporting guidelines.
- Keep the Operations Shift Supervisor informed about all operational activities.
- Maintain effective communication within the work team to address issues quickly.
- Provide key information on well production problems, production rates, and current well conditions.
- Conduct thorough diagnostics before requesting Well Work intervention operations.
- Ensure wellhead and surface equipment are maintained in good working order prior to intervention operations.
- Support ongoing Wellwork operations as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Completed secondary education with previous experience as a Field Technician.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High standard of safety, health, and environmental awareness with the ability to promote these standards in others.
- Extensive knowledge or experience in pipeline operations.
- Strong understanding of safety and operations management tools and processes.
- Solid knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures.
- Familiarity with project philosophy and design specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and commercial agreements.
