Position Overview

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including timely processing of invoices, premium collections, and reconciliation of statements
• Prepare and process payments to healthcare providers, vendors, and other payees in line with company policies
• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals
• Support the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
• Conduct financial analysis to guide decision-making and identify opportunities for cost control
• Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts on a regular basis
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies
• Process and verify claims payments, working closely with Claims and Underwriting teams to resolve discrepancies
• Prepare financial reports for management, auditors, and regulatory agencies
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (professional certification such as ACCA, ACA, or CPA is an advantage)
• 3–5 years of proven experience in a finance role with hands-on expertise in accounts payable, receivable, and financial reporting
• Background in the healthcare or insurance industry is highly desirable
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• High ethical standards and commitment to financial integrity
