We are currently looking for a proactive and result-driven Finance Officer to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about value chain sustainability and want to make a real impact, we would love to hear from you!

Your Role: As a Finance Officer, you will be the backbone of our country office operations, ensuring financial integrity and contributing to efficient program delivery. You will play a crucial role in supporting both the strategic and day-to-day financial and administrative functions that help our work create lasting impact. The role will be based in Lagos, Nigeria, with regular travel to project sites across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L and Balance Sheet).
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Track expenditures and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Reconcile accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage cash flows to ensure liquidity for operational needs.
  • Implement and maintain strong financial controls to prevent fraud and errors.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and regulatory financial requirements.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the accounts payable process, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Manage annual audit cycles and deliver audit reports to donors on time.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure sound financial management in the country office.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in an international organization.
  • Professional certification in finance or proven work experience in the field.
  • Experience with financial management, analysis, and reporting in international organizations.
  • Strong ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., SpendCloud, Exact).
  • Familiarity with tax laws (PAYE, VAT, WHT) and financial regulations.
  • Ability to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
  • Proficiency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
