Role Overview
The Generative AI and Data Science Internship at FlexiSAF is a unique opportunity for individuals eager to build expertise in AI, data science, and machine learning. The program is divided into three levels — beginner, intermediate, and advanced, and provides participants with a well-structured curriculum, self-paced learning materials, and practical projects.
Participants will develop technical skills in Python programming, backend development, and AI model design while also working on real-world projects and collaborating with mentors. The program focuses on accountability, hands-on practice, and measurable progress throughout the internship.
Note: This is not a paid internship. Participants are expected to have a functional laptop and stable internet access to fully engage in the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a self-guided learning curriculum covering AI, data science, and generative models.
- Complete assigned tasks and projects aligned with the internship roadmap.
- Collaborate with mentors and fellow participants to develop solutions to real-world challenges.
- Demonstrate consistent progress through performance tracking and assessments.
- Build a portfolio of practical AI and data science projects to showcase technical growth.
Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity or working knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Python) and its libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Understanding of backend development using frameworks like Flask or Django, and familiarity with databases and RESTful APIs.
- Basic knowledge of AI and data science concepts — machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, data modeling, NLP, and computer vision.
- Ability to perform data manipulation, preprocessing, and visualization using tools such as Google Data Studio, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Awareness of AI ethics and bias in machine learning models.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and accountability.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- A portfolio or demonstrable project work in AI or data science (advantageous for advanced-level applicants).
Salary
This internship is unpaid. There are no stipends for data or other allowances at this time. Participants are required to have access to a laptop and reliable internet connection to enable full participation.
