Role Overview

The HSE Lead will oversee the Project Health, Safety, and Environment Department. This role involves managing and improving the HSE system to ensure safe and efficient project execution, while protecting personnel, assets, and the environment. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role, providing guidance to project teams and ensuring compliance with all HSE standards.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Support

  • Provide effective leadership to HSE staff and project personnel
  • Mentor and guide the team to uphold professional standards and company values
  • Offer expert advice on occupational health and safety issues
  • Support the execution of HSE policies and procedures
  • Assign responsibilities while maintaining accountability

Technical & Operational

  • Develop and gain approval for project HSE plans, procedures, and budgets
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Client on HSE-related matters
  • Confirm that all personnel and subcontractors meet medical fitness requirements
  • Implement company HSE and waste management policies
  • Establish and manage the HSE training plan for the project
  • Ensure timely incident reporting, investigation, and closure
  • Participate in risk assessments and workshops; ensure actions are implemented
  • Create and execute emergency response procedures
  • Represent the company at client and project meetings
  • Lead HSE evaluations during subcontractor selection
  • Conduct project audits and ensure corrective actions are addressed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate
  • Relevant ISO certifications
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in oil and gas HSE roles, with at least 6 years in a management capacity on major projects
