Job Title: Hotel Accountant

Location: Sabo Yaba, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Control

• Manage petty cash and ensure proper retirement
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records
• Generate monthly financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements
• Implement control procedures to protect financial integrity

Daily Transactions Management

• Process invoices, track payments, and manage daily financial transactions from the front office, food and beverage, and laundry departments
• Monitor hotel revenue and expenses
• Ensure accurate tax calculations and compliance with regulations
• Handle employee benefits and deductions

Budgeting and Cost Control

• Work with department heads to create and monitor budgets
• Implement cost-saving measures and track spending

Internal Audits and Compliance

• Conduct internal audits across store, kitchen, restaurant, bar, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance
• Address discrepancies promptly

External Audits

• Coordinate with external auditors during audits
• Provide required financial records and explanations

Inventory Oversight

• Monitor inventory levels across all departments
• Minimize waste and optimize procurement practices

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, or ACCA is an added advantage
• 3–5 years’ experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and filing procedures
• Proficiency in accounting tools such as Excel, QuickBooks, Sage, Opera PMS, and Hotelman

Salary

N200,000 – N250,000 monthly
