We are currently recruiting for the position of Housekeeper to support daily operations in our offices and guest houses.

Location: Benue, Kaduna, Katsina and Plateau

Job Description

The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in COOPI’s office premises, guest houses, and surrounding areas. The role also includes assisting with basic household tasks and ensuring a comfortable environment for staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure daily cleaning of offices, guest rooms, storerooms, and common areas.
  • Empty waste bins and transport waste materials to designated collection points.
  • Sweep and mop floors, dust and polish furniture, windowsills, cabinets, and shelves.
  • Clean toilets, sinks, and urinals daily, and restock consumables such as soap, tissue, and paper towels.
  • Maintain tidiness of guest rooms including making beds and arranging spaces neatly.
  • Sweep compounds regularly and maintain overall hygiene.
  • Use appropriate cleaning products, antiseptic solutions, and detergents for cleaning and laundry.
  • Provide laundry services for guest house residents.
  • Assist with cooking and grocery shopping when required.
  • Report broken or non-functioning equipment, furniture, and stock shortages to the logistics focal point.
  • Maintain high personal hygiene standards, including daily changing of work clothes.
  • Carry out any other assigned housekeeping-related duties.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Certificate in hospitality or housekeeping.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with an international organization.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Professional, motivated, flexible, and culturally sensitive.
  • Experience in cleaning, cooking, and maintaining sanitation.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred
  • Ability to communicate in English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a similar position.
