Job Title: IGCSE & A-Level History Teacher
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Contract (Part-time)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate History Teacher certified to teach IGCSE and A-Level programmes. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum, guiding students to achieve academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons based on Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level standards.
• Teach for 2 hours per day, 3 times a week (6 hours weekly).
• Prepare students for internal assessments and Cambridge external examinations.
• Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments, and test materials.
• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback and academic reports.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and curiosity.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching quality and departmental effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress with parents or guardians.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• Recognised teaching certification with a focus on IGCSE and/or A-Level instruction (e.g., Cambridge certification, PGCE, TRCN).
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in IGCSE and/or A-Level programmes.
• Strong understanding of Cambridge curriculum standards and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in the use of educational technology and digital teaching tools.

Additional Information

• This is a part-time, contract-based position.
• Shortlisted candidates may be invited to deliver a demonstration lesson.
• Immediate availability or readiness to start in the upcoming academic term is preferred.

Salary Range

₦120,000 – ₦150,000 per month
