Job Title: English Teacher (IGCSE & A-Level)
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Employment Type: Contract (Part-Time)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher who is certified to teach the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum. The selected candidate will work on a contract basis, teaching for two hours per day, three times a week. You will play a vital role in supporting our students’ academic progress and exam preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons that align with Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level standards.
• Teach for 2 hours per day, 3 days per week (a total of 6 hours weekly).
• Prepare students for internal and Cambridge external assessments.
• Create and implement lesson plans, assignments, and assessment materials.
• Monitor student progress and provide detailed feedback to guide improvement.
• Encourage a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters learning.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan academic programmes and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with parents or guardians.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related subject (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• Recognised teaching certification in IGCSE or A-Level instruction (such as Cambridge Certification, PGCE, or TRCN).
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience teaching IGCSE and/or A-Level English.
• Strong understanding of the Cambridge curriculum and assessment methods.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to integrate modern teaching methods and educational technology.

Additional Information

• This is a contract-based, part-time position.
• Shortlisted candidates may be invited to conduct a demo lesson.
• Preference will be given to candidates who can start immediately or before the next academic term.

Salary

₦120,000 – ₦150,000 per month
