Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Employment Type: Contract (Part-time)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Geography Teacher with a strong command of the IGCSE and A-Level curriculum. The ideal candidate will inspire and guide our sixth-form learners, ensuring they achieve excellence in both internal and external Cambridge assessments. This is a flexible contract role requiring 2 teaching hours per day, 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, well-organized lessons in line with Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level standards
• Teach for 2 hours per day, 3 times per week (6 hours per week in total)
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external Cambridge examinations
• Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments, and test materials
• Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and maintain detailed academic records
• Foster an inclusive, motivating learning environment that encourages academic success
• Collaborate with colleagues on departmental planning and curriculum enhancement
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding learner progress

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant field (Master’s degree is an added advantage)
• Recognized teaching qualification, preferably in IGCSE or A-Level (Cambridge certification, PGCE, or TRCN registration)
• Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience teaching IGCSE and/or A-Level Geography
• Strong understanding of the Cambridge curriculum and assessment structure
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in modern teaching tools and educational technology

Additional Information

• Contract-based, part-time position
• Shortlisted candidates may be required to conduct a demo lesson
• Candidates with immediate availability or readiness for the next academic term are preferred

Salary

NGN 120,000 – NGN 150,000 per month
