Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit and Compliance Manager to oversee internal controls, evaluate business processes and ensure strict compliance with operational and regulatory standards. This role is vital to safeguarding business integrity, improving process efficiency and managing risk.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Audits

• Carry out audits on procurement, field operations, sales, inventory, payroll and cash management
• Assess operational efficiency and recommend cost-saving opportunities

Financial Controls and Risk Analysis

• Verify accuracy of financial statements and general ledger entries
• Conduct risk assessments and investigate potential fraud
• Ensure proper segregation of duties and implement internal checks

Inventory and Fieldwork Audits

• Perform regular spot checks on chemical and engineering equipment inventory
• Match inventory records with sales and equipment usage logs
• Monitor equipment deployment at various sites

Process and Policy Audits

• Review standard operating procedures across departments to identify compliance gaps
• Recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and efficiency
• Organize staff training and awareness sessions on compliance issues

Regulatory and Tax Compliance Review

• Validate statutory filings and tax payments
• Check adherence to local labour laws, safety regulations and corporate governance requirements

Reporting

• Prepare and submit timely audit reports highlighting risks and recommendations
• Track and follow up on the implementation of audit findings

Process Development

• Establish documentation standards and reporting templates for audits
• Develop risk management frameworks and internal control matrices

Requirements

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting or related field with at least 15 years of audit or internal control experience (preferably in Oil and Gas, Financial Institutions or FMCG)
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CIA) is mandatory; MSc or MBA is an added advantage
• Strong attention to detail with sound knowledge of audit principles, internal controls, risk management and regulatory compliance
• High ethical standards, confidentiality and analytical ability
