About the Role
We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditor to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining strong financial and operational control, especially in areas such as inventory, customer account reconciliation, and payment systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Audit Planning and Execution

• Design and implement risk-based audit plans focusing on inventory, procurement, payments, and reporting
• Conduct thorough audits of inventory systems, stock movements, and warehouse operations
• Test the effectiveness of internal controls in accounts payable and vendor payments
• Analyze financial processes for compliance and fraud prevention
• Perform regular audits to verify record accuracy and regulatory compliance

Inventory Management Audits

• Review purchase orders, stock receipts, and sales documentation
• Monitor physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies
• Analyze inventory turnover and identify obsolete stock
• Ensure inventory storage aligns with company standards

Payment and Financial Controls

• Evaluate payment processing systems for policy compliance
• Test segregation of duties in payment approvals to reduce fraud risk
• Sample and review vendor transactions for accuracy and documentation
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and tax regulations

Risk and Compliance Monitoring

• Identify financial risks and recommend improvements
• Stay up to date with industry standards and accounting regulations
• Recommend operational improvements and cost-saving strategies
• Follow through on corrective actions from audit results

Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare audit reports with findings and suggested actions
• Share results with management and stakeholders
• Document audit procedures and maintain thorough records

Teamwork and Collaboration

• Work with teams in finance, operations, and logistics to assess controls
• Support employees in understanding audit compliance processes
• Collaborate with external auditors during reviews

Continuous Improvement

• Stay informed on auditing trends and tools
• Suggest ways to improve audit efficiency using data and automation

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 2 to 3 years of audit experience, preferably in retail or distribution
• Strong grasp of financial controls, especially around inventory and payments
• Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Salary
₦150,000 – ₦180,000 monthly (Negotiable)
