The bank began operations in 2000 as Erikpo Community Bank and was upgraded in 2005 to a state microfinance bank by the CBN. Its head office is in Effurun with twelve branches across Delta State.

Position overview:

Job Title: Internal Auditor

Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

Internal Audit Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive internal audit plans aligned with the bank’s objectives and risk profile.
Work closely with management to identify areas that require audit coverage.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Evaluate internal controls and identify potential risks within operations.
Design and recommend strategies to mitigate risks and strengthen control processes.

Audit Execution
Carry out internal audits according to established plans and timelines.
Perform detailed testing of financial and operational processes to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

Documentation and Reporting
Prepare clear and accurate audit documentation.
Present audit findings and actionable recommendations to management in comprehensive reports.

Compliance Monitoring
Monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
Keep up to date with changes in industry regulations and standards.

Process Improvement
Provide practical recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls.
Work with relevant departments to implement approved changes.

Fraud Detection
Investigate and identify incidents of fraud, waste, or abuse.
Introduce and maintain measures that improve fraud detection and prevention.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Previous experience as an internal auditor or in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
