Job Title: Internal Auditor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our client’s team in the Manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will assess internal operations, identify risks, and recommend strategies to strengthen compliance, efficiency, and internal control systems. This role requires collaboration with different departments to conduct audits, analyze financial data, and ensure that company assets are safeguarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and develop annual audit plans.
• Carry out internal audits to review the effectiveness of internal controls, financial systems, and operational procedures.
• Examine financial statements, records, and reports to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Communicate findings and guidance to senior management and department heads.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and support corrective measures.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, auditing standards, and regulatory changes.
• Contribute to special projects, investigations, and process improvement initiatives.
• Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional certifications such as ACA, CPA, or CIA are preferred).
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as an Internal Auditor in the Manufacturing or Logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management, and auditing standards (e.g., COSO, SOX).
• Proficiency in data analysis and auditing tools (such as ACL or IDEA).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage all levels of management.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High integrity, objectivity, and commitment to ethical practices.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Willingness to travel occasionally if required.

Salary

N1,000,000 – N1,500,000 monthly (Net).
