Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for an early-career professional who wants to grow in the field of accounting while supporting renewable energy projects. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with compliance processes, and contributing to the financial integrity of projects across multiple EMEA countries. You will work remotely with a team that values collaboration, innovation, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record and maintain financial transactions accurately in compliance with IFRS and EMEA accounting standards.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
  • Assist project managers in tracking budgets, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Support tax and VAT submissions and ensure compliance with relevant EMEA financial regulations.
  • Contribute to improving accounting processes and implementing digital tools for efficiency.
  • Maintain well-organized digital financial records and support paperless accounting practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with teams across different countries and cultural backgrounds.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and EMEA-specific regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP, and strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to meet deadlines remotely.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial documentation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in international or renewable energy sectors is an advantage.
  • Progress toward or interest in pursuing a professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is a plus.
