We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Lead Civil / Structural Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities in the Civil / Structural Engineering function.
- Review and prepare discipline and project-specific documents, including drawings, datasheets, reports, and philosophies.
- Ensure sub-contractor/vendor designs meet company standards, relevant industry codes, and client requirements.
- Assist in resolving field problems and engineering issues across all project phases, from conceptual design to construction and commissioning.
- Maintain quality and consistency across the discipline, adhering to established work procedures.
- Monitor design contractor performance, recommending improvements when necessary to ensure project schedule and quality are met.
- Participate in HAZOPs and key design reviews.
- Organize and attend meetings with contractors, stakeholders, and engineers to resolve design-related issues impacting equipment life and personnel safety.
- Review fabrication drawings and documents for compliance with contract specifications and design standards.
- Support document controllers in maintaining updated drawings and drawing registers.
- Drive effective delivery and continuous improvement through accountability, influencing, and overcoming challenges.
- Lead by example to ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards are met and ensure risks in design are minimized to acceptable levels.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to manage project expectations, risks, value drivers, and critical success factors.
- Foster strong working relationships with other disciplines and contractors.
- Prepare weekly progress and monthly reports.
- Integrate lessons learned from past and current projects into future project work.
- Support the development of junior team members and new technical professionals.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and technical guidelines, and deliver required technical documentation.
- Manage and oversee the full range of civil engineering tasks from small to large-scale construction projects, ensuring safety and sustainability.
- Ensure legal compliance, including health and safety, and consider budget constraints, regulations, and environmental hazards during the project’s risk-analysis phase.
- Provide technical support on contractual claims preparation and review.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a University Degree (B. Eng., B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil or Structural Engineering, along with relevant professional qualifications.
- At least 10 years of post-graduation experience, with a minimum of 6 years in engineering, construction, maintenance, and commissioning, and 3 years as a senior discipline engineer or project manager in a reputable organization, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in MS Windows, Excel, and MS Office.
- Preferably NSE/COREN registered.
Skills & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
- Expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to civil engineering projects.
- Ability to solve complex problems creatively and analytically.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly detail-oriented and accurate.
Salary
N1,800,000 – N2,000,000 per month.
