About the Role

We are hiring a Mechanical Technician to support our operations in Kano. The ideal candidate will handle the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and attend to mechanical breakdowns
  • Diagnose and repair faults across various plant equipment safely and efficiently
  • Report equipment issues and breakdown root causes to the maintenance coordinator
  • Follow and implement standard maintenance procedures
  • Maintain and service jigs and fixtures used in production
  • Carry out root cause analysis and resolve recurring mechanical issues
  • Reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) through effective troubleshooting
  • Manage inventory and plan for replacement of spare parts
  • Train junior technicians and production line operators
  • Monitor and log utility usage
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
  • Operate effectively in a shift-based work environment
  • Uphold safety standards and contribute to a safe work culture
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Candidate Requirements
  • B.Eng or HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic press operations
