We are currently looking for a Portfolio Manager to join our team and drive our credit operations in Gombe.

Job Opportunity: Portfolio Manager at Moniepoint Inc.

Location: Gombe

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing the loan portfolio and leading a team of Field Credit Officers within the state. Your primary focus will be ensuring strong credit risk management, maintaining a healthy loan portfolio, and driving the growth of our loan products.

You will collaborate with key departments, including Product, Risk, and Operations, to ensure smooth loan disbursements and repayments while upholding credit policies.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Field Credit Officers within the assigned state
  • Set performance targets and ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and support professional development
Portfolio Oversight and Growth
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow and manage a profitable loan portfolio
  • Monitor loan approvals, disbursements, and repayments to ensure targets are met
  • Identify risks and implement proactive measures to protect portfolio health
Credit Risk Management
  • Enforce compliance with company credit policies and procedures
  • Review and approve loan applications submitted by Field Credit Officers
  • Conduct credit risk assessments and collaborate with senior management to refine credit evaluation frameworks
Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure all credit operations comply with regulatory standards and internal policies
  • Prepare and present portfolio performance reports to senior management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit transactions
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Product, Risk, and Operations, for efficient loan disbursement and servicing
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and community stakeholders
  • Handle escalated customer inquiries related to loan management
Process Improvement
  • Identify gaps in credit administration and recommend process enhancements
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and competitor strategies
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Four to five years of experience in lending, credit, or portfolio management, with at least two years in a leadership role
  • Strong expertise in credit risk analysis and financial assessment
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial sector
  • Proven experience in managing and expanding loan portfolios in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a resident of Gombe State
