Job Title: Nutrition Officer
Location: Borno and Yobe States
Job Type: Full-Time

Role Overview

The Nutrition Officer will oversee the implementation of nutrition activities within project locations. This role involves managing screening, treatment, community engagement, and reporting while providing technical support to field teams to ensure the effective delivery of nutrition services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nutrition component of the project, including screening, referral, and treatment of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) cases.

  • Conduct regular assessments of nutritional needs and provide timely reports to the Project Manager.

  • Supervise Nutrition Assistants, Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNMs), and health workers.

  • Train and mentor field staff and community volunteers on nutrition best practices.

  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation across field locations.

  • Represent FRAD in coordination and stakeholder meetings.

  • Monitor project progress, track impact, and ensure compliance with donor and organizational guidelines.

  • Engage community members to promote awareness of proper nutrition practices.

  • Collaborate with other teams for integrated program delivery.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on project outcomes and challenges.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills, with the ability to prepare reports and manage budgets.

  • Proficiency in English and Hausa (written and spoken); knowledge of Kanuri is an advantage.

  • Understanding of CMAM and MIYCN nutrition approaches.

  • Excellent reporting, team leadership, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Strong stakeholder and community engagement capabilities.
