Internship Overview
We are currently looking for a motivated Operations Intern to support our Country Director and operations team in Abuja. This internship is ideal for current NYSC corps members seeking hands-on experience in administrative support, project coordination, and nonprofit operations.
Key Responsibilities
As an Operations Intern, you’ll play an active role in supporting daily operations through the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule monthly project review meetings and quarterly extended management meetings with the Country Director and project managers.
- Share project review templates with managers and follow up to ensure timely updates before meetings.
- Attend management and extended management meetings, document minutes, and track action points.
- Draft agendas for meetings, strategy sessions, and internal workshops for review and approval by the Country Director.
- Track progress of action items from work plans and ensure timely completion by team members.
- Organize and upload supporting documents for audit-related actions into the internal audit tracking system.
- Handle official correspondence and letters addressed to the Country Director. Draft and manage responses for approval.
- Maintain and update the Country Director’s contact list and meeting notes in Salesforce regularly.
- Monitor weekly updates on Devex and share summaries of relevant opportunities with the Country Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related social science field.
- Alternatively, 2 years of relevant administrative experience.
- Must be a current NYSC corps member in a recently deployed batch.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with donor-funded projects or operational processes in a non-profit environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong sense of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative spirit with effective communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet tools.
- Familiarity with donor compliance procedures is an added advantage.
- Flexible and proactive mindset with attention to detail.
