Job Title: IGCSE & A-Level Physics Teacher
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Employment Type: Contract (Part-Time)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Physics Teacher certified to teach Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level programmes. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging lessons that inspire learners, foster intellectual growth, and support academic excellence. This is a part-time contract role requiring 2 hours of teaching per day, 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver well-structured and engaging Physics lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level standards
• Teach for 2 hours daily, 3 times a week (6 hours per week)
• Prepare students for internal assessments and Cambridge external examinations
• Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments, and assessments
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and academic reports
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with other educators and contribute to curriculum planning and review
• Keep accurate academic records and communicate effectively with parents and guardians

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Physics (Master’s Degree is an advantage)
• Recognised teaching certification such as Cambridge Certification, PGCE, or TRCN
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in IGCSE and/or A-Level programmes
• Strong knowledge of Cambridge curriculum standards and assessment procedures
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to integrate modern teaching tools and educational technology into lessons

Additional Information

• This is a part-time, contract-based position
• Shortlisted applicants may be required to present a demo lesson
• Immediate availability or readiness to start in the next academic term is preferred

Salary

₦120,000 – ₦150,000 monthly
