The Association serves as the central platform for communication and consultation between the manufacturing industry, the government, and the public. Before its creation, there was no unified voice representing the interests and aspirations of manufacturers in Nigeria.

Today, MAN continues to advocate for a business environment where manufacturers can operate efficiently and profitably for the growth of the economy. As the recognized voice of the manufacturing sector, MAN works to promote and protect the collective interests of its members through policy engagement, advocacy, and strategic communication.

Job Summary

The Public Relations Manager will play a key role in shaping and managing the image and communication strategies of MAN. The position involves overseeing media relations, stakeholder engagement, corporate communications, and event management. The ideal candidate will ensure consistent messaging that reinforces MAN’s mission as the representative body of the manufacturing sector in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

Media Relations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media organizations, and communication agencies.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases, interviews, and media briefings that reflect MAN’s advocacy positions.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to ensure timely and effective communication responses.
  • Coordinate media engagements for key events, conferences, and policy discussions.
Public Relations and Strategy
  • Develop and implement PR strategies aligned with MAN’s strategic and advocacy goals.
  • Support the President and Director-General with speech writing and public statements.
  • Manage crisis communication to maintain public trust and organizational credibility.
  • Increase MAN’s visibility through partnerships, campaigns, and stakeholder initiatives.
Corporate Communications and Branding
  • Strengthen MAN’s brand identity across all platforms and materials.
  • Develop internal communication systems to improve engagement among members and partners.
  • Lead storytelling efforts that highlight MAN’s contributions to industry growth and policy development.
  • Oversee branding for official publications, events, and digital platforms.
Event Management and Compering
  • Plan and manage major MAN events including Annual General Meetings, conferences, and stakeholder forums.
  • Serve as host or compere at official events to ensure professionalism and audience engagement.
  • Coordinate event logistics, media coverage, and promotional materials.
Protocol and Embassy Relations
  • Manage protocol arrangements for dignitaries, government representatives, and diplomatic partners.
  • Handle official correspondence with embassies and international institutions.
  • Oversee travel, hospitality, and ceremonial activities during official engagements.
Editorial and Publications Management
  • Supervise the production of newsletters, annual reports, and advocacy materials.
  • Ensure consistency and clarity in all written publications and digital content.
  • Collaborate with the Research and Policy Division to communicate policy insights effectively.
  • Manage digital communication channels, including website content and social media updates.
Divisional Project Management
  • Lead divisional communication projects and track implementation progress.
  • Prepare performance reports on media engagement and communication outcomes.
  • Manage departmental budgets and coordinate inter-departmental communication activities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or membership of professional bodies such as NIPR, CIPR, or APCON is an advantage.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Media Management within a business association, advocacy group, or private sector organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing strategic communications, stakeholder relations, and publication projects.
  • Strong knowledge of advocacy communication and corporate branding.
