Position Available: QA / QC Technician – Oil & Gas Construction Project
Location: Port Harcourt / Offshore, Rivers / Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections and tests on materials, equipment, and construction activities to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate QA / QC records, including inspection reports, test results, and certification documents.
- Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with industry standards (such as API RP2A, ANSI B31.3) and regulatory requirements.
- Support: Assist the QA / QC Supervisor in the development and implementation of QA / QC plans and procedures.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to the QA / QC Supervisor, highlighting issues and recommending solutions.
- Safety: Promote and ensure adherence to Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) standards on-site.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: HND / OND in a technical field.
- Certification: NACE CIP Level 1 or equivalent certification.
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience as a QA / QC technician in the oil and gas industry, with a strong background in field or shop work.
Skills and Expertise
- Proficiency in QA / QC software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Certifications
- OPITO Basic Offshore Survival Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).
- Additional certifications in welding inspection, coating inspection, or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) are a plus.
Key Competencies
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of QA / QC processes, including welding, coating, and NDT.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all project deliverables meet company specifications and quality standards.
