Job Summary
The Relationship Management Officer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and growing strong relationships with customers. This role involves identifying and closing sales opportunities, attracting commercial clients, analyzing market trends, and staying ahead of competitors. Key Responsibilities
Sales Management
- Implement branch commercial sales strategies that align with local market conditions to meet sales targets.
- Cross-sell bank products and keep up-to-date with market developments.
- Drive customer acquisition and account openings for individuals and businesses.
- Provide feedback on product performance and market trends to improve offerings.
- Maintain and grow existing commercial business relationships while seeking new opportunities.
- Deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential customers.
- Promote a positive sales environment through education on bank products and services.
- Convert service recovery situations into opportunities to strengthen client loyalty.
- Coordinate sales efforts with marketing initiatives.
Risk Management
- Assess lending risks within the bank’s risk appetite while maximizing profitability.
- Follow the bank’s complaint resolution process to maintain service standards and reduce losses.
- Ensure strict KYC compliance to prevent fraud.
- Review loan terms, collateral risks, and ensure all documentation meets bank policies.
Financial Management
- Analyze financial statements, forecasts, and reports for accurate assessments.
- Evaluate credit requests in line with the bank’s credit culture and industry trends.
- Support branch managers in preparing funding and credit proposals.
- Grow deposits, loans, and overdrafts to enhance branch profitability.
Customer Service
- Deliver consistent and exceptional service to meet customer needs.
- Address customer complaints promptly and effectively.
- Provide tailored financial solutions through needs analysis and consultations.
- Maintain frequent communication with clients and offer expert financial advice.
People Management
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.
- Foster a positive workplace culture and uphold safety, wellbeing, and compliance standards.
- Lead by example, demonstrating the bank’s values and strong leadership skills.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a First Degree in any discipline (additional qualifications are an advantage).
- Experience: 3–10 years relevant experience in sales and marketing.
- Professional Certification: CIBN.
- Digitally savvy with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation and strategic thinking ability.
- Ability to lead a team and work effectively with others.
