About the BuPreDMiN Project

The Building a Resilient Local Dairy Supply Chain in Nigeria (BuPreDMiN) initiative is a four-year program designed to develop a sustainable, precise, and productive dairy value chain in Nigeria. The goal is to improve the incomes and resilience of local dairy farmers, while reducing the industry’s environmental impact.

Role Overview

As the Senior Program Manager, you will lead and manage the implementation of BuPreDMiN, ensuring the successful delivery of project goals. You’ll oversee a dedicated team and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with the project’s strategy, timeline, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Program Implementation:

  • Develop and execute project management documents, including a detailed implementation plan, work plan, and log frame.
  • Manage the rollout of Milk Collection Centres across Oyo, Ogun, and Osun states.
  • Identify commercial ranches for expansion and engage high-performing herders to invest in ranching.
  • Attract investment to various business components of the project.
  • Collaborate with the MEL Manager to track project performance and data accuracy.
  • Adapt implementation strategies to meet key milestones and project goals.
  • Prepare high-quality project deliverables, including progress reports and donor updates.
  • Identify potential challenges and provide practical solutions.
  • Oversee the creation of training materials for the program team and partners.
  • Monitor the project budget and ensure financial efficiency.
  • Serve as a liaison to public and private stakeholders, including local government.
  • Represent the project at relevant external events and forums.
  • Offer guidance to TechnoServe’s Program Development team when needed.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, International Development, Economics, or related fields with a minimum of 7 years’ experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of professional experience.
  • At least 8 years in international development roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing and implementing large-scale programs.
  • Strong background in leading large teams and overseeing complex operations.
  • Experience collaborating with private sector businesses.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing large donor-funded development projects.
  • Familiarity with the Nigerian development or agricultural landscape.
  • Track record in women and youth empowerment initiatives.
Language Proficiency
  • Fluent in English and Yoruba.
  • Knowledge of Fulfude is an added advantage.
Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 40-50% of the time.
Key Skills and Competencies
  • Proven leadership in strategic planning and stakeholder coordination.
  • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s plastic waste or environmental sectors is a plus.
  • Ability to build and scale dairy business models.
  • Experience in attracting investors to the dairy sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in producing clear, insightful reports.
  • Strong collaboration skills with both public and private sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigeria’s livestock and dairy industry.
