Job Summary
Dangote Cement Plc is looking for an experienced and passionate Social Performance Manager to develop and manage a Social Management System that aligns with the company’s standards. This role focuses on fostering strong community relations and implementing social impact initiatives in areas affected by cement operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct social impact assessments related to cement plant operations and surrounding communities
  • Design and manage a Community Development Plan tailored to cement industry impacts
  • Develop budgets for community programs connected to cement operations
  • Lead engagement efforts with stakeholders, including local leaders and groups
  • Coordinate community development projects in partnership with NGOs, CBOs, and local institutions
  • Organize town hall meetings, project briefings, and community feedback sessions
  • Manage grievance procedures to ensure timely and fair resolutions
  • Support local institutions in promoting development initiatives related to cement production
  • Provide training and build internal capacity on social performance best practices in the cement industry
  • Deliver training for community groups to strengthen local capacity
  • Ensure all activities meet health, safety, security, and environmental standards
  • Monitor and report on Social Performance metrics and KPIs monthly

Requirements

  • Degree in Sociology, Community Development, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in social performance or community relations within the cement or heavy industry sector
  • Strong background in community engagement, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of gender inclusion and working with vulnerable groups in industrial settings
  • Fluency in English and familiarity with local languages
  • Strong project planning, reporting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude with a strong commitment to community development
