We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team in the role below:

Job Title: Sonographer

Location: Gwarimpa, Abuja (FCT)

Job Objective

The Sonographer will report to the Centre Coordinator and will be responsible for performing quality ultrasound examinations, preparing accurate reports, and supporting physicians in diagnosis and treatment. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and adherence to MSI standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review client medical history, explain procedures clearly, and ensure client understanding
  • Conduct clinical assessments and perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations as requested by physicians
  • Analyze examination images, prepare preliminary findings, and ensure accurate reporting
  • Use professional judgment to capture relevant anatomical and clinical details during scans
  • Maintain client privacy, confidentiality, and safety throughout procedures
  • Apply correct scanning techniques, use positioning aids, and operate equipment effectively
  • Prepare examination rooms and ultrasound equipment in line with infection prevention and client safety standards
  • Identify limitations during scans and escalate where necessary
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and optimal operation of ultrasound equipment
  • Operate the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to increase client volume and build referral networks
  • Support outreach and marketing events to promote imaging services
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Ultrasound, Medical Imaging Sciences, or Radiography from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Sonographer in a hospital or medical facility
  • Registration with a relevant regulatory or professional body and a valid practicing license
  • Proficiency in computer use and knowledge of applicable regulations
