Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Verification Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying loan applications, conducting field investigations, and ensuring all lending activities comply with internal and regulatory standards. This role is vital in maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of our loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate loan applications and all supporting documentation.
• Conduct on-site verification visits to confirm borrower information and collateral.
• Ensure compliance with lending policies, internal procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Identify potential risks or inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Work closely with Loan Officers and internal departments to address verification-related issues.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all verification processes.
• Prepare timely reports on verification outcomes and progress.

Qualifications and Skills

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 1 – 2 years of experience in loan verification, internal control, or risk management (preferably in a microfinance or financial institution).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
