Responsibilities

As a WordPress Web Maintenance Intern, you will be responsible for supporting our digital presence and ensuring smooth website performance. Your tasks will include:

• Maintaining WordPress websites with focus on design, usability, and performance
• Monitoring, updating, and managing multiple websites
• Implementing security measures to protect websites
• Performing regular updates and testing for functionality and quality
• Improving user experience and resolving website issues
• Conducting content audits to ensure accuracy and relevance
• Integrating and managing engaging website content
• Collaborating with content creators and developers to align design with branding goals
• Assisting with additional tasks such as data analysis, data visualization, graphic design, content writing, and administrative duties as assigned

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

• HND or B.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Social Sciences, or a related field
• Previous experience in website maintenance
• Strong knowledge of web design principles and best practices
• Proficiency in WordPress, including theme and plugin customization
• Good understanding of SEO
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Effective time management and multitasking ability
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in English
• High level of integrity and respect for cultural diversity

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with Elementor or other page builders
• Knowledge of Google Analytics and other analytics tools
• Graphic design skills with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD)
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, and cross-browser compatibility
• Familiarity with PowerBI, Tableau, or advanced Excel
• Experience with research tools such as R, Stata, or SPSS
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods

Special Considerations

• Applicants must be 2025 corps members currently in, or about to enter, NYSC orientation camp
• Candidates must be deployed to Abuja or willing to redeploy there
