Role Overview
We are seeking a focused and well-organized Accountant to manage daily financial activities for an automobile business. This role involves handling accounts, preparing reports, tracking inventory costs, and ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant. The successful candidate will help management make sound business decisions through clear financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare regular financial reports
• Manage accounts payable and receivable with timely reconciliation
• Prepare customer invoices for vehicle sales, spare parts, and services
• Track and reconcile vehicle and spare parts inventory
• Monitor cost of goods sold including vehicle and workshop expenses
• Ensure compliance with tax requirements such as VAT, PAYE, and WHT
• Support internal and external audit processes with proper documentation
• Maintain fixed asset records and manage depreciation schedules
• Prepare financial analysis and performance reports for management
• Work closely with sales, workshop, procurement, and inventory teams
• Review and validate job cards, service bills, and workshop expenses
Qualifications and Skills
• HND or BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3 to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automobile industry
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an added advantage
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or SAP
• Strong numerical, analytical, and reporting skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Strong ethics, integrity, and professionalism
Salary
N250,000 – N300,000 per month
