Role Overview

The Architect will be responsible for developing creative and functional design concepts, preparing architectural and structural drawings, and ensuring all projects meet required design standards, regulatory codes, and client expectations. The role involves close collaboration with engineers, quantity surveyors, builders, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development and Documentation

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, 2D and 3D renderings, and construction documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and related tools.

• Translate client requirements into functional, aesthetic, and sustainable design solutions.

• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design concepts.

• Modify and update designs based on client feedback and site conditions.

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors to align design and construction processes.

• Participate in project planning meetings and provide technical input on design-related matters.

• Ensure all project drawings are accurate, current, and accessible to the site team.

Regulatory Compliance and Standards

• Ensure designs comply with local building codes, safety standards, and zoning regulations.

• Liaise with regulatory agencies to secure project approvals and required documentation.

• Integrate environmental and sustainability considerations into designs.

Quality Assurance and Supervision

• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and confirm compliance with design specifications.

• Provide technical support to site teams in interpreting architectural drawings.

• Identify and resolve design conflicts or deviations during project execution.

Client and Stakeholder Communication

• Present design concepts and proposals to clients for review and approval.

• Prepare project presentations and reports for management and clients.

• Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and vendors throughout project delivery.

Innovation and Design Improvement

• Stay updated on emerging design trends, materials, and construction technologies.

• Incorporate innovation, cost efficiency, and modern techniques into project designs and delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in architectural design and site coordination.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, and Microsoft Project.

• Strong understanding of building codes, structural coordination, and site execution.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and visualization skills.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.

• Professional registration with ARCON or NIA, or currently in progress, is an added advantage.

Salary

N220,000 per month
