Job Title: Assistant General Manager, Production

Location: Okpella, Edo

Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager, Production will oversee and coordinate all kiln and coal mill operations to achieve set production and quality targets. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet annual production volume targets.
  • Manage SHC, SPC, and fuel mix in line with budget.
  • Oversee refractory work to ensure continuous kiln operation.
  • Maintain operational reliability of kilns and coal mills.
  • Implement all company safety measures and guidelines.
  • Ensure production of high-quality clinker in line with quality standards.
  • Oversee kiln maintenance to guarantee efficient operations.
  • Optimize resource utilization for uninterrupted production and plant safety.
  • Resolve production bottlenecks to improve output and environmental compliance.
  • Supervise kiln startups, shutdowns, and daily operations.
  • Manage emergency situations following standard procedures.
  • Conduct regular process tests to ensure sensor functionality.
  • Coordinate housekeeping activities for kiln and CCR areas.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards.
  • Liaise with the Shift Coordinator when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the GM, Production.
Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in production management.
  • At least 5 years in a senior management role within manufacturing.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production management principles.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and planning capability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
