Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automobile Fabrication Manager to oversee the complete fabrication and body-building operations for our three-wheeler product line. The role requires strong expertise in automotive fabrication, welding, sheet metal forming, and jig and fixture design. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality production through effective leadership, planning, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise all fabrication activities for chassis and body systems, including welding, forming, trimming, and sub-assembly integration
  • Lead a team of technicians and supervisors to achieve productivity, quality, and safety goals
  • Work closely with Design, R&D, Quality, and Production Planning teams to meet manufacturing requirements and timelines
  • Oversee tooling development such as jigs, fixtures, and dies for welding and assembly
  • Implement and improve welding processes including MIG, TIG, and spot welding as well as CNC cutting and bending
  • Track and optimize key performance indicators such as yield, cycle time, rework, and lead time
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949 within the fabrication unit
  • Promote workplace safety and environmental standards across operations
  • Conduct training and skill development programs for team members
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or a related field
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in fabrication or body shop operations, preferably in the three-wheeler or light commercial vehicle segment
  • Strong technical knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, welding processes, and structural assembly
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, as well as ERP and MES systems
  • Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
  • Familiarity with quality assurance methods including FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, and PPAP
Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to three-wheeler chassis or composite body manufacturing
  • Certifications in Welding Inspection, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma
  • Hands-on experience in establishing new fabrication lines or automation systems
