Job Title: Capacity Building Officer (Nigeria Residents Only)

Scope of Work
The Capacity Building Officer will support the implementation of the 3iS Disaster Preparedness Information Management Capacity Building Strategy. The role involves coordinating training, engaging stakeholders, conducting needs assessments, and strengthening institutions to improve information management capacity among national and state-level humanitarian actors in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement and Needs Assessment
- Assist with stakeholder mapping and identify key actors such as NEMA, SEMA, and NRCS
- Support the Capacity Building Manager in carrying out needs assessments through interviews and surveys in Sokoto, Kebbi, Benue, Bayelsa, and at the national level
- Analyze data and provide input on training priorities
Training and Workshop Coordination
- Contribute to the development of training materials including manuals and presentations
- Organize logistics for workshops and training sessions both in-person and online across different regions
- Support delivery of Train-the-Trainer programs and peer-to-peer learning activities
Institutional Strengthening
- Support the development of online courses, update materials on Moodle, and track student performance
- Implement feedback mechanisms and post-training evaluations to measure outcomes
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Maintain databases, dashboards, and tracking tables for monitoring capacity building activities
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and prepare reports for stakeholders and donors
- Design and analyze end-of-activity surveys
General Duties
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Capacity Building Manager
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in information management capacity building, training coordination, or humanitarian program support
- Knowledge of IM systems, data analysis tools, QGIS, and disaster preparedness frameworks
Skills
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, KOBO, Power BI, Tableau, Google Looker Studio, and QGIS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural environment

N3,000,000 – N3,185,000 per month (Gross)
