Position Summary
The Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) delivers essential primary healthcare services, health education, and community outreach programs. This role supports doctors, nurses, and other health professionals in promoting preventive care and providing basic medical services at the community level.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic medical care such as first aid, wound dressing, and treatment of minor ailments
- Support maternal and child health programs, including antenatal care, immunizations, family planning, and safe delivery assistance
- Conduct community outreach to educate residents on hygiene, nutrition, sanitation, and disease prevention
- Assist in screening and managing communicable and non-communicable diseases such as malaria, TB, HIV, hypertension, and diabetes
- Administer prescribed medications and injections as directed by supervising health professionals

Salary
N60,000 – N70,000 monthly
