Job Overview

The Credit Officer will be responsible for reviewing loan applications, assessing clients’ financial information, and evaluating credit risks. This role requires a solid understanding of lending procedures combined with excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will help clients secure loans on time while ensuring compliance with all requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process loan requests
• Assess clients’ financial status and documentation
• Evaluate creditworthiness and potential risks
• Contact clients to gather necessary financial information
• Analyze risks to approve or reject loan applications
• Develop and set up payment plans
• Maintain updated records of all loan applications
• Follow up on loan renewals and repayments
• Monitor ongoing loan performance
• Handle daily and weekly repayment collections

Requirements and Skills

• NCE, OND, HND, or BSc in Banking and Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Credit Officer, Loan Officer, or similar role
• Practical knowledge of lending procedures and financial products
• Ability to prepare and manage financial spreadsheets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Customer service experience
