Role Overview
We are looking for a Credit Officer to support our lending operations in Port Harcourt. The role involves assessing loan applications, evaluating client information, and ensuring all loan processes are completed accurately and on time. Successful candidates must understand lending procedures and have strong customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and process loan requests
• Assess clients’ financial status and documentation
• Evaluate creditworthiness and identify potential risks
• Communicate with clients to obtain required financial details
• Approve or decline loan requests based on set criteria
• Set up repayment plans for approved loans
• Maintain accurate records of loan applications
• Follow up on loan renewals
• Monitor ongoing loan performance
• Handle daily and weekly repayment collections
Qualifications and Skills
• NCE, OND, HND, or BSc in Banking and Finance, Economics, or related field
• Previous experience as a Credit Officer, Loan Officer, or similar role
• Practical knowledge of lending procedures and financial products
• Ability to prepare and work with financial spreadsheets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Good customer service skills
Salary and Benefits
• Starting salary of 100,000
• Bi-annual profit sharing
