Job Title: Developer Advocate

Location: Lagos (Remote)

About the Role

The Developer Advocate will serve as the connection between Moniepoint’s powerful APIs and the developer community. This role is centered on empowering developers to succeed by providing clear technical content, engaging with the community, and ensuring developer feedback is reflected in our product development. It combines technical expertise with strong communication skills and empathy for the developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Write, maintain, and improve technical documentation for clarity and accuracy
  • Publish tutorials, blog posts, and articles showcasing API features and best practices
  • Create videos, demos, and webinars that explain complex technical concepts

Community Engagement

  • Actively participate in developer communities across forums, social media, and events
  • Represent Moniepoint at meetups, hackathons, and conferences as a speaker and attendee
  • Build relationships with influencers and tech leaders in the developer ecosystem

Developer Support and Feedback

  • Provide support for developers using Moniepoint APIs and resolve technical challenges
  • Collect feedback from developers and share with internal product and engineering teams to improve solutions

Strategy and Outreach

  • Contribute to strategies that increase awareness and adoption of Moniepoint’s developer platform
  • Build and maintain SDKs, code samples, and demo applications for developers
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a software engineer
  • Strong knowledge of APIs (REST, GraphQL), web technologies, and programming languages such as JavaScript/Node.js or Python
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Proven track record of creating technical content such as blogs, tutorials, or documentation
  • Experience presenting at webinars, meetups, or conferences
  • Passion for supporting developers and empathy for their challenges
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in fintech or with financial APIs
  • Previous experience in a Developer Advocate or Developer Relations role
  • Ability to create and edit technical video content
  • Participation in open-source projects or active involvement in developer communities
